I would like to take a moment and thank you all for being patient and understanding during these unprecedented times. I ask for your continued patience as I navigate through our “new normal”. In saying that, Salon Origins is following strict measures to adhere to Provincial Health Authorities and WorkSafe BC requirements. Listed below, you will find actions I am taking as a business to protect your health and safety.

To do my part in adhering to salon safety guidelines, I will be running my business at 70% to maintain a safe space for you, your family and myself. Please familiarize yourself with my Covid-19 safety plan below. Also, some salons have added an extra cost of a "Covid Fee" and some salons have absorbed it by raising their service prices. Because Covid-19 is not forever, I have chosen to make it a "Safety Fee" of $10 that will be removed when this is all over. This number was achieved with a specific calculating tool. Not only is the cost of the supplies extra, so is the cost of recycling for removing the PPE safely. I appreciate your understanding and continued support during these uncertain times.

Safety Requirements & Regulations 


  • If you have traveled outside of the country, or to any city outside of our own that has been considered a "hot spot" for COVID-19 infections, you must quarantine for 14 days before coming to the salon.

  • If you have symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, fever, or shortness of breath in the last 21 days, please be honest and reschedule your appointment. This policy also includes your household members. I understand this will take courage to be honest for some, but you will be doing our community a big service.

  • I will be waiving cancellation fees due to illness and will happily reschedule your appointment. Please give me as much notice as possible. NO SHOW fees still apply. 

  • Unfortunately, only 1 client at a time is allowed in the salon.

  • Please arrive no earlier than your scheduled appointment time. If I am running behind, I will do my best to notify you in advance. Please note, as I am getting accustomed to wearing PPE and having booked cleaning times between each appointment, it is likely that I may run behind.

  • I will greet you at the door and ask to take your temperature using a no contact thermometer. Due to privacy concerns, temperature checking is voluntary. Temperature data will not be stored or shared. Clients with a temperature above 37.5 Celsius will not be allowed to enter the salon and will be provided resources for seeking medical advice.

  • Upon entry to the salon, please wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer provided. 

  •  I am no longer permitted to display magazines and other touch “hot spots” within the salon. You are welcome to bring your own reading material.

  • I am no longer permitted to offer beverage service. 

  • As much as I’d love to help you with your coat and belongings, I am no longer permitted to. Sadly, I am also unable to shake hands or hug. Don’t worry, air hugs are just as cute! 

  • Please arrive solo. No children, partners, or friends. Unless the client needs assistance. 

  • A mask is REQUIRED at all times. Please bring your own mask, make sure it loops around the ears instead of tying in the back. If you do not have your own mask, I will supply one for you. Please note, for all colour services, colour may get on your mask. So, you may not want to wear your favourite one.
